Last July, Coach Nick raced his 15-year-old daughter, Avary, to the hospital. They left with a diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes.   T1D is an autoimmune condition that requires constant blood sugar monitoring and lifelong insulin management, and Avary now manages it every day.   You may not know Nick. As our 5AM coach, he shows up and delivers coaching with care before most of us are awake. Now we get to show him some care.   On May 9, 2026, Team Avary will participate in Beat the Bridge at Husky Stadium — featuring an 8K race and a 5K fun run/walk.
