Wednesday, June 19th, Juneteenth, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It is also often observed for celebrating African-American culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1865.

We will be celebrating the holiday by collecting donations towards The Urban League of Greater Seattle. We will keep a full schedule so that you can celebrate with us! Ways to give:

  • Donate Directly: https://urbanleague.org/donate/
  • Donate through GLSC w/ a match: email [email protected] and we’ll bill you $25 and match it for a total of $50 to the Urban League.
  • Donate through GLSC in person: Sign up on the white board on Junteenth and we’ll bill you $25 and match it for a total of $50 to the Urban League.

The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) empowers African Americans, as well as other diverse underserved communities, to thrive by securing educational and economic opportunities.
