✨Member Spotlight✨ Meet Melizza! A little about her in her own words: A Brooklyn girl to a PNW one, I’ve called Seattle home for 11 years. When not at the gym, I’m a mom to a couple of humans and dogs (Vanilla Bean and Cinnabon). I’m also a gluten-free baker and sewist. I get a lot of my creative energy out by making cakes and clothes.
How long have you been a member of GLSC? I joined in May 2025 after seeing a friend post about the gym on social media. I’d been wanting to learn how to weightlift properly for ages. My mind was kinda blown that there are gyms dedicated to it. Duh, Melizza.
How has being a part of the gym benefited you? I can say that I honestly find the workouts super meditative. I enjoy concentrating on what my body can do and do better. As a result, I feel stronger and more grounded. What is your favorite movement or workout? Don’t know why, but I absolutely love doing ring rows. I look forward to getting stronger and hopefully, one day, moving on to completing my first pull-up!
What is your favorite music or pump-up song? “Alive” by Sia always puts an extra pep in my step.
