Green Lake Strength & Conditioning is a community of athletes who find strength, confidence, and connection by pursuing lifelong health and fitness together. We’ve been in Green Lake for over 15 years, and in 2020 changed ownership to Kate and Nate Muller, two long-time members. We help busy professionals find fitness and community.

A successful Head Coach candidate will

  • Have a passion for helping other coaches improve their coaching abilities

  • Be well spoken and comfortable with in-person, over-the-phone, and online communication

Head Coach Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of coaching, including coach management, class programs, and personal training.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise coaches.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive membership growth and retention.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service by addressing member feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Lead regular coach meetings, evaluations, and feedback sessions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve gym operations.
  • Manage group class schedule.

Group Coach Responsibilities

The head coach will also lead 10-20 group coach classes per week.

  • Create a welcoming, friendly, and encouraging environment for all athletes.
  • Foster community between athletes.
  • Provide coaching and training to group classes to ensure athlete safety and improvement.
  • Read, understand, and effectively deliver group programming.
  • Design and implement group warm-up protocols.
  • Provide feedback and cues (during classes and post-training) for athlete improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Promote and exemplify the values of Green Lake Strength & Conditioning.
  • Maintain adherence with gym rules and regulations for yourself and everyone else in the gym.
  • Maintain operation, cleanliness, and organization of the equipment and facility.
  • Calmly and competently respond to emergency situations.
  • Participate and contribute to staff meetings and staff education events.
  • Actively engage in professional development and continuing education.

Required Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years of fitness coaching experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role
Coaching certification (such as L1 CrossFit certification, SCSC, PPSC, OPEX, etc.)
CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time (30-40 hour/week) position. The exact hours will vary based on gym needs, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends with at least 10 hours per week of coaching and 20 hours per week of people management, admin, and/or sales. The remaining hours will fluctuate depending on the gym’s needs.

Competitive salary ($65-80k/yr) based on experience, with upside via personal training hours.
