Meet Henry & Maeve! A little about them in Henry’s own words:
I am a human man who moved to Seattle from Washington, DC three years ago to be closer to family. I’m a Data Scientist in the renewable energy sector and love sight hounds, my favorite of which is my little noodle-baby gumdrop princess, Maeve.
2. How long have you been a member of GLSC?
1,118 days.
3. How has being a part of the gym benefitted you?
Having the gym as a “third place” has been beneficial not just for my physical health, but for my emotional health. Until recently, I had been working from home full time (which gets lonely), and I needed a social outlet at the end of the day. I’ve been fortunate enough to make a lot of friends through GLSC, so heading to gym has become something I consistently look forward to 🙂
4. What is your favorite movement or workout?
BOX JUMPS
5. What is your favorite music or pump up song?
Conga by Gloria Estefan, or Adagio for Strings if it’s an 18 min AMRAP
6. What’s Maeve’s favorite thing about coming to GLSC?
She gets REALLY excited when it’s time to go to the gym. She knows she’ll be able to see her favorite people, nap on a comfy bed, and possibly get into a shouting match with her dog friends.
7. If Maeve could design a new workout class, what would it be like?
4 sets of 200m sprints. 2 sets of naps. 4 sets of 100m sprints. 1 set of snacks.
8. Does Maeve have any advice for staying motivated at the gym?
“The real gains are made in the recovery period, so be sure to get a solid 18 hours of sleep per day.”
